Popular Re-run: ExWeb’s interviews with Artur Hajzer.

(MountEverest.net/K2Climb.net) Last year, ExWeb ran a 3-part interview series with Polish climber Artur Hajzer. artur-hajzer-new

Artur told us how an “invisible line” kept him away from the summits ever since Kukuczka died, a situation that obviously changed this year when Artur topped out Dhaulagiri with Robert Szymczak.

Now Artur is the leader; about to head a winter expedition in Pakistan, hoping to bag Broad Peak’s first winter attempt. Here goes a rerun of the past interviews, spanning a good chunk of history in Himalaya mountaineering.

The veteran climber has seen trends come and go since the ’80s, and spoke to ExWeb about old friends, changing styles in alpinism, his burgeoning business, and other bits of his rather intense 45 years – how he became rich and then lost everything, his love/hate relationship with mountaineering, and his projects for the future..
